It was a regular work Thursday. You know those days when you have a lot of calls and explaining to do before you sign off for the week, and even more so if that’s your last working week of the year.
I gave up. I logged off for a lunch by the river and walked and walked and walked to find a bunch of kids playing in the perfect afternoon sun. Maybe that’s why I stopped. Perhaps that’s why I clicked the picture. It transported me back to those days in school – when we played endlessly under the sweltering sun, shrieking with joy at “Memo PT” and getting scolded at home for ruining school uniforms, or breaking bones. What a life, what a time we left behind.
The outlook meeting reminder broke my trance. Packed some pastries and walked back home with a heavy heart.
Memory of a warm winter afternoon from the hills, 2021.
